For over five decades, DEEP PURPLE have been one of the most influential rock bands in music history. With classics such as "Smoke on the Water" and "Highway Star", they have played a decisive role in shaping hard rock - and in 2026 they will still be performing with unbroken energy on the world's biggest stages. With more than 100 million albums sold and countless sold-out arenas worldwide, the British band is one of the most enduring acts in rock history.

 

Since their formation in 1968, Deep Purple have regularly released chart-topping albums and toured worldwide - without ever losing sight of their musical roots. Their success remains unbroken in the new millennium: In the last ten years, the band has sold over 2 million albums, and their last four studio albums - including the current work "=1" (2024) - reached number 1 in the German album charts four times in a row. Across Europe, the releases have occupied top positions and cemented Deep Purple's status as one of the most important rock bands of our time.

The tour

Parallel to the release of "=1", the band launched a worldwide tour in 2024, which has increased their ticket sales to over one million since 2022. This once again underlines Deep Purple's exceptional position as one of the most popular stadium and arena bands in rock music. The current line-up - Ian Gillan (vocals), Roger Glover (bass), Ian Paice (drums), Don Airey (keyboards) and Simon McBride (guitar) - combines experience, virtuosity and fresh energy. McBride in particular has been providing new creative impetus since 2023: "The Irish-born guitarist added a lot of power to the band and was able to put his own spin on many of the well-known classics" (Creative Loafing Tampa Bay).

 

With rumors of a new album in 2026 and constant new concert announcements, Deep Purple show no signs of resting. Their unmistakable sound - an eclectic mix of hard rock, blues and progressive elements - remains timeless, inspiring generations of
