On Sunday, the hosts, Babelsberg, started with a lot of pressure and had two chances to take the lead in the 16th minute through Frahn and Werbelow, but the Erfurt defense cleared at the last second. Erfurt took the lead unexpectedly in the 24th minute when Gall precisely served Seaton, who scored from a free position to make it 1-0.

The joy did not last long, however. Frahn equalized in the 33rd minute with a Panenka-style penalty. Two minutes later, Cakmak scored to make it 2-1 for Babelsberg after a shot hit the inside post. Babelsberg could have increased the lead before the break, but did not.

After half-time, Erfurt became more active, but Weinhauer failed to capitalize on a great chance against Klatte. A spectacular volley from Frahn in the 53rd minute to make it 3-1 was a heavy blow for Erfurt. Despite increased efforts and pressure from RWE, Babelsberg remained defensively compact and secured the win.
