Nitto ATP Finals – A Look at the History

The Nitto ATP Finals are among the most prestigious tournaments in men’s tennis and mark the grand finale of the ATP Tour each year. Since their inception in 1970, the event has been held in numerous cities – from Tokyo and New York to Frankfurt, Shanghai, and London’s O₂ Arena. Since 2021, the tournament has taken place in Turin, bringing together the top eight singles players and doubles teams of the season to compete for the unofficial world championship title.

 

Over the years, many tennis legends have triumphed at the ATP Finals: Ilie Năstase, Ivan Lendl, Pete Sampras, Boris Becker, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray are among the most prominent names. Roger Federer stands out with six titles and a record 59 match wins – closely followed by Novak Djokovic, who has also claimed six titles.
