When you hear Rot-Weiß Erfurt versus Lokomotive Leipzig, you think of historic duels between two traditional clubs with a glorious past. Both teams have experienced many ups and downs in German football. They are now meeting again in the Regionalliga Nordost, with each encounter being characterized by a special explosiveness that electrifies both players and fans.

The last home game
The crisis-ridden duel between FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt and 1. FC Lok Leipzig began at a moderate level. Mergel missed the only big chance in the first half, whose shot was cleared off the line by Wilton (24th). Lok did not get a ball on the Erfurt goal in the first half, which is why the 0:0 score at half-time was fair.
After the break, Erfurt had a good chance just five minutes later, but Müller saved against Mergel (50th). Lok also had chances: Ballo and Atilgan missed the lead in the 51st minute. Atilgan was again denied by Manitz (52nd), while Hajrulla was denied by Müller on the other side (57th). The game remained exciting: Lehmann narrowly missed (66th), Wilton and Adigo were denied by Manitz (68th/77th). Three minutes before the end, Soares cleared a tricky situation after a mistake by Manitz. In injury time, Sirch scored the winning goal for Leipzig with a free kick, which landed in the far corner behind Manitz.
