Shortly before the break, Harper increased the lead to 2-0 when he successfully completed a quick counterattack initiated by Kammerer.
Even after the break, the DEG remained the dominant team. In the 32nd minute, the Wolfsburg goalkeeper prevented another goal from Ehl, who narrowly missed a great opportunity. The Grizzlys Wolfsburg fought their way back into the game in the 47th minute with a goal from Fauser and reduced the score to 2-1. In an exciting final phase, the Grizzlys tried everything to equalize, but the Düsseldorfer EG defended their lead resolutely and secured victory in this intense duel.
