Shortly before halftime, Shakur increased the lead to 35:28 after Shorts initiated a quick fast break.
Even after the break, the Towers remained the dominant team. In the 28th minute, the Oldenburg point guard prevented Hinrichs from scoring another three-pointer after he had a good shooting opportunity. The EWE Baskets Oldenburg came back into the game in the final phase, but even after an unsportsmanlike foul by Christen, Oldenburg could only shorten the score to 78:75 in the final seconds through Paulding. Hamburg defended the lead and secured the win.
